Q: What is the Difference Between the Cub and the Ranger?

A: Depends on your use case. The Cub is better suited for larger indoor environments, a garage environment, small to medium sized outdoor gatherings of 10 or less people, or other hangouts of that nature. The Ranger is better suited for small indoor spaces or small outdoor gatherings of a few people. The Ranger is going to be more portable that the Cub, therefore better suited for being on the go.

Other basic spec difference between the 2 speakers include:

  1. The Ranger has 2 magnets on the back to offer mounting on magnetic surfaces, where the Cub does not
  2. The Ranger has customizable bumper color options, the Cub does not
  3. The Ranger weighs 3lbs versus the Cub at 5lbs
  4. The Ranger has 2 2in. drivers versus the cub having 1 4.5in driver
  5. The Cub is going to be an overall louder speaker than the Ranger
  6. The Ranger is going to be an overall more portable speaker than the Cub
